Spring Reactive Elasticsearch

Hey there! I and my team use Elasticsearch in our project but we implemented it a long time ago. I was wondering what’s new with Spring and Elasticsearch. We are used to using JPA(Java Persistence…

Satisfy the user

The Research team wants to identify if we have an opportunity to make users’ stream more content. They have identified a challenge which they think is worth exploring: “Improve how Spotify users find music to listen to.”

Data was collected and it was decided to first review one of the problems raised by a specific user

Problem planning:

I felt identified with the problem of a good playlist to study, most music and playlists are boring, and how difficult it is to find.

The objective is to design a good solution to a problem, to find the best way to complete most of the proposed goals.

Goals:

➔ Gain focus while studying

➔ Get motivated by the tempo

Wants:

(what will make the process of achieving goals more comfortable)

➔ A way to refine his search

➔ A better classification of existing playlists

➔ A more efficient way to find playlists based on their attributes instead of their titles.

➔ Spend less than 2 minutes finding a playlist

Needs:
(what will help to achieve those goals)
➔ Find existing playlists of songs with no
lyrics
➔ Find existing playlists of songs with good
tempo
➔ Exclude slow-paced music from his search

Fears:

(worst-case scenarios and things people want to avoid on their way to the goals)

➔ Spend too much time browsing playlists database

➔ Not knowing what to type in the search bar

➔ End up with an overwhelming amount of search results that doesn’t match his needs

StoryBoard:

Step by Step:

Problem challenge:

The main challenge was to find a solution to the problem and it was a great challenge because it is the solution to a large company like Spotify that constantly update to meet user demands.

I thought to create a different search engine according to what you are doing and your tastes.

I first followed the map of the user’s journey, to better understand the problem of this and discover.

The Explore option:

In exploring there is a focus option, it is supposed to be the best option to study, relax and there is a great variety of music, the problem is that you have to search and listen to many songs to choose a good playlist that suits your needs.

so a solution could be a test, that’s right, try it to last about 30 seconds of a mix of the songs that are in the playlist

to be able to know what type of playlist it is, if you like it and it is what you were looking for.

Example with edit:

I feel that it is a solution that can be effective to find your ideal studio playlist in less than two minutes.

I understood that a good way to design, understanding the user, I think it is difficult to find a solution to such a large platform, but taking a concrete example you can reach a possible
