I first encountered Gurumayi (pronounced guru-my) in dreamtime in the 1990s. Though I didn’t know who she was at first.

She came to me with others and asked if I would join her group to assist the people of India that had been involved in an American chemical corporation accident.

“Is this to help the souls leave their bodies so they can have “good deaths”?” I asked.

“No,” she said. “The people who have died or are about to die have no problem passing. We are to help relieve the suffering of those exposed the toxic chemicals.”

“Yes,” I said. “I will join.”

I didn’t know who she was immediately. It took some investigation through intuition and seemingly magical happenstances to uncover her identity. The image of her face — I had seen somewhere before.

I was at my lover’s house, sitting at her desk waiting for her to change her clothes. There was a small pocket-sized photo of a woman that looked so familiar. I asked Cara about the photo.

“Oh, that’s Gurumayi, a holy person from India,” she said. I felt chills of instantaneous recognition. I told Cara about my dreamtime experience. She told me that Gurumayi had an ashram in Oakland, about 60 miles away in Bay Area California.

I had never met someone in dreamtime with whom I’ve had opportunity to meet in-person.

We were crowded into a large room. Gurumayi spoke:
