Lifeline Poetry Challenge 2022

Who we are & who we can be

When prompted, we tend to do things,

take risks, expose our inner selves,

which we, usually, are a bit hesitant to

but, when pushed, by those,

that we trust,

we delve deep

into those depths where usually we don’t venture,

yes, how we feel, what we dream,

what our fears are, how we see ourselves,

and who we are!

When encouraged, and inspired to reach

where we can’t see ourselves reaching,

suddenly those heights, that made us

giddy with nervousness

become reachable.

Yes, it wouldn’t be,

but for those who stand

beside us, behind us, around us

coaxing us to go on,

to reach, to take this leap of faith

yes, that we are listened to,

we are not alone,

on this adventure.

We can become what we want to be!
