The Last Beatle

They broke up ~1970. They are still here.

The Fab Four hit us in the heart and the mind.

There are two left. Who will be the last Beatle?

When he is gone, the Beatles’ power will still live on

in the lives they uplifted, the love they championed,

the equality they lived among diverse peoples,

and the care they showered on their families.

I am proud and grateful to be in that cohort of people who made it possible

for these guys

to contribute so much

to all of us

as the generations march on.
